One of my favorite accessories to wear is fishnet tights. They give any outfit a classic touch of sexy. I usually keep my look simple when I wear them but I took it to another level this cold weather season.
First things first, fishnets come in a variety of…net. I love them all. From micro net to fence net. Yes they actually have a name. Please be advised, they don’t look the same on everyone. I have long legs and thick thighs so any style that I wear definitely stretches to the max. Sometimes, I even size up to ensure I can wear them comfortably and they will stretch well without ripping or creating holes; unless I’m going for that look.
For this look, I just wanted to add a hint of edge with each piece. I consider this a turtleneck top since it’s kind of in between a shirt and a sweater. Thick enough to wear on its own and thin enough to wear with layers. I love the faux button detail on the left shoulder and sleeves. Normally I’d wear it to work with black pants and black OTK boots and add a jacket or coat, but it would also work as is for a fashion consultation or meeting. To pair with a work outfit, I usually carry a tote bag and a cross body bag to run errands on the weekend. It gives my shoulder a break and always me to be free to move swiftly. (P.S. I had to size down for a while because I was packing too much in my large tote bag. Don't be like me and carry the whole world in your bag. Just the necessities.)
If you're familiar with my blog, by now you know that these are my favorite pair of boyfriend jeans. I wear them so often because they are comfy and perfect for daily wear. If I could, I'd wear them everyday but y'all would judge me so...I don't. These booties have also made multiple appearances to the blog as well because they too are comfy as well as versatile. The silver studded detail is eye-catching and give them a bit of character. As for the accessories, you'll always catch me in a cool pair of sunnies and statement earrings because those are currently my go-to.
Since it was really cold this day, I added undercover layers. I wore a thin black turtleneck underneath my top and socks over my fishnets. That’s the beauty of style. You can add layers for comfort and warmth, still look put together, and no one will know.
I wore my floppy fedora hat to keep warm but it was also a quick decision because my hair wasn’t done and I had to think of something fast. That’s what happens when you don’t plan well and do things last minute right? Lucky for me, I’ve learned to use hats, head wraps, and scarves to my procrastinating advantage.

Look out for a post on fishnet socks, another fave I like to wear to make a statement and go from trendy to a staple item you can wear with multiple looks!
