While wearing neon you're sure to be on front street, but don't worry, this is not your average neon. Deemed as "the season's most eye popping trend" by Vogue Magazine, rocking neon hues is a trend that you just have to wear with confidence. As I took inventory of all things blindingly bright in my closet, I realized that I had a plethora of items to choose from. Prior to doing this, I panicked and almost went out and purchased some trendy neon pieces but I'm glad I didn't. I remembered my motto: classic, not trendy. My job as a stylist is to teach you how to shop your closet first, then purchase items that compliment your style and help define your image.
I've seen a lot of neon looks lately. Some make you want to put your shades on and are just a bit much for my personal taste. I think that's why a lot of people are afraid to wear it. The looks I created are based on this season's neon hues but I wanted to show different styling options perfect for everyday wear. This is not to say don't step outside of your comfort zone, but it's to encourage you to take notes, create your own looks, and confidently own your style.
Bright Pink is the New Wednesday
The Floral Maxi
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Pink... I think The Days of the Week Board Members should just remove the word Wednesday altogether. The first way to ease neon into your wardrobe is with your accessories. I decided to play up this dress that I've worn about fifty-leven times with bright pink accessories (necklace and clutch). I honestly believe this is the simplest way to become more comfortable with wearing almost anything new. It can be a belt, socks, shoes, earrings, sunnies, etc. Endless accessory possibilities are yours for the taking.

Slime Green is Not a Crime
The Flowy Skirt
I promise that the fashion police will not come after you for this one. Stylists honor. Ready to take your neon to the next level? Try one bright piece. I chose this slime green skirt and stuck with green hues from head to toe. The skirt stands out but all green everything pulls the look together. Have a neon green suit? Wear the pieces separately. No need to go full on just yet.

Orange You Glad You're Future is Bright
The Midi Dress
Go. Awf. Sis...with full on neon! Why not make a statement and affirm your future is lit at the same time? I chose this dress because I never want it to ever leave my closet and it's a staple. The style is classic, the color compliments my skin tone, and overall I feel great in it. I chose to wear white mules and grab an oversized mesh tote to "spring it up".

Earrings: Macy's
Bag: Urban Outfitters

I hope you love the looks and try wearing a few neon pieces if you haven't already done so. Pick a color you're comfortable wearing, start small with accessories, opt for one bright piece of clothing, or go full on with head to toe neon; but always remember if you begin with confidence you will look your best!
